Vatican cho biết Giáo hoàng Leo XIV mắc ung thư biểu mô tuyến phổi sau khi bác sĩ cắt thùy dưới phổi phải; ca mổ thành công, không có biến chứng.

Chi tiết:

• Ca mổ kéo dài khoảng 90 phút; Giáo hoàng tỉnh lại bình thường và trở về phòng bệnh tại bệnh viện Gemelli ở Rome.
• Vatican cho biết xét nghiệm trong lúc mổ xác nhận chẩn đoán ung thư biểu mô tuyến phổi, bệnh đã bị nghi ngờ qua các xét nghiệm trước đó.
• Thông báo chưa nêu giai đoạn ung thư, bệnh đã lan hay chưa, hoặc Giáo hoàng có cần điều trị thêm không.
• Ngài dự kiến nằm viện khoảng một tuần; Vatican đã hủy các buổi tiếp kiến của ngài đến ngày 20/10.
