Tổng giám mục quân đội Mỹ khuyên lính Công giáo xin miễn nhiệm vụ xử bắn

Tổng Giám mục Timothy Broglio khuyên binh sĩ Công giáo được phân công vào đội xử bắn Nidal Hasan xin miễn nhiệm vụ vì việc này trái giáo lý Công giáo.

Chi tiết:

• Hasan bị kết án vì giết 13 người trong vụ xả súng tại căn cứ Fort Hood, Texas, năm 2009; ông dự kiến bị xử bắn ngày 3/12.
• Broglio phản đối kế hoạch phát trực tiếp vụ xử bắn và đặt câu hỏi liệu cho công chúng xem có phục vụ mục đích nào hay không.
• Broglio từng chủ trì tang lễ Michael Grant Cahill, thường dân duy nhất thiệt mạng trong vụ xả súng.
